The Aeronautical Science degree program at the Daytona Beach Campus blends flight training with academic study to provide a firm foundation in airline, corporate, and commercial or military aviation. The curriculum includes FAA certification as a multi-engine, instrument-rated commercial pilot. Students also get to learn about and fly Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and develop problem-solving skills with computer simulations while preparing for a career as a professional pilot. Housed in the Aeronautical Science department, this program prepares students for a career as a professional pilot. Students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills using computer simulations while becoming skilled in mathematics, physics, communication, business, and aeronautics.

The Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Science degree is housed in the Department of Aeronautical Science in the College of Aviation.

Degree Details

This program may be completed in eight semesters. Students must successfully complete a minimum of 121 credit hours. Students select one of three specializations: Airline Pilot, Commercial Pilot, or Military Pilot. All students must complete the General Education courses, Aeronautical Science core courses, Flight core courses, and the courses required to complete one specialization.
